Hello Form Southampton

Postby Grendel » 28 Apr 2012, 18:11

Hello

I'm new to BBQ but after watching programs like Diners, Drive-in, Dives on food network I'm keen to start smoking things and have already bought a cold smoker thing to make smoked cheeses and garlic Ect... And recently also bought a Hot smoker which is out of use until I replace the electric element I melted not realising US is 120V not 230V as I the UK

As you gather I’m more interested in Smoking food than flame grilling since my past experience of charcoal BBQ has been that it's never at the right temperature to cook until you finishing cooking everything or in my case cremating.

Although I do make my own Jerky but i do cheat by using a dehydrator.

Welcome! The ProQ works really well - have done some home-smoked salmon with it & also it works well on steak prior to cooking. What kind of cheese are you doing? I don't eat the stuff, but my wife does - so might have to do some for her.
