Hello again from Northern Ireland

Postby Curlie028 » 28 Mar 2015, 11:00

Been a loooooong time since I jumped in, so thought it best to reintroduce myself.

Hadn't realised just how long it has been (well over 2 years) but I think I'm ready to get stuck in again.

I have a WSM, a Kettle and my loyal little Smokey Joe. Still been smoking the turkey, Christmas mornings and doing some low key smoking and grilling all year round but looking back, I lost the real passion for it and a lot of other things, following a close family loss but the juices are flowing again and I'm back.

Never done any competition Q'ing, we are a bit isolated from the circuit over here but might have a go this year or maybe next. My passion is smoking and grilling to educate, tantalise and convert the fire em up, slap it on and keep your fingers crossed crew, to the real thing. I have no special BBQ skills or knowledge, just that passion to see others enjoy my offerings.

I have probably lost a lot of the basics, deep in those memory banks and picked up some bad habits in the last couple of years, so brace yourself for some dumb questions until I get back in the grove.

Away from BBQ, I keep bees, am passionate about me football, have a new found interest in reading, enjoy some music time and love quality time with the family. I retired a couple of years ago (but have only just turned 50, so that could change) have 3 grown up sons and a grand daughter. The boss puts up with a lot but after 32 years of me, she is beginning to tolerate my quirks. Bless 'er little cotton socks.

Apols if that was a bit too long in this sound byte era but that's me back and ready to ask dopey questions again.
