Thanks for all your advice so far, looking at the specs although they are not hugely different I think as you
all have said, it is worth paying the extra for the premium.

Hi,

i got my 57cm weber smokey mountain online from Birstall garden centre for 330 pounds. they were the cheapest i could find online, and by some way. also came with a premium weber cover in box (not sur eif this standard or not)

Birstall was the site I was looking at ordering from, they do seem to have the best prices.

Well, I bought a 57cm Weber from Gardens4less (thanks to a post on here with a discount), cooked my first beer
can chicken and beer brats last night for my family. Everyone was more than impressed. Used the Thermapen
I won on here to test the temp of the chicken - all good. One thing though, the legs did seem tough, not sure
if it was the chicken (Aldi free range), or the way it was cooked, any ideas? Cooked indirect on the bottom grate
as the chicken was too tall with the top grate on, for about 1.5 hours.

180C or there abouts. Would I have been better to slash the thighs first?

180c or 180f? Legs are about right at 175f if you were at 180c they will have been well overcooked.

Might just have been a little overdone - you could try taking it off 5 degrees earlier

At 80C they still should have been good. Were they dry or just tough?
