Somerset calling

Postby monteey » 06 Jun 2012, 21:49

Hiya I'm Mark from South Somerset, been cooking BBQ's for last 20 odd years for friends and family, always grill style, but looking through the posts, it seems smoking is the way forward!
Weirdly my mums got a brand new weber smoker sat in her shed never been used she won in a competition, must get her to dig it out and give it a whirl!

Good to find a place with has given me so many ideas already, my shopping list is growing already!

Never cooked on gas bbq and never will, cant really see the point!

Welcome to the forum from a fellow West Countrymen, get your mum to dig out the smoker, you'll never look back, in fact you'll wonder how you survived without one

like lighting your chimney starter or boiing a kettle to make tea,for instance, while you're waiting for your meat to come off the smoker at 7 o' clock in the morning

Exactly, or good old fashioned British BBQ ;)
I'm surprised (not really) that no-one has mentioned the fantastic offers in the supermarket 50 items of "flavoured" BBQ "food" for five whole British pounds
