Hello All,

I've used a Weber 57cm grill for over ten years and get very funny looks from my neighbours if I'm in the garden cooking on my grill and its either snowing or raining. I have finally made the jump to low and slow, I have ordered and am patiently waiting for my 47cm WSM. I spent a long time trying to decide on which size to get I'm just hoping I have gone for the right one. Never have i struggled with a decision so much. I have tried a little smoking on my grill but nothing over two hours. Hoping to have my first cook this weekend if it arrives in time. Im think of starting with some ribs and progressing onto a butt and then the briskett. Cant wait. :D

Phil

I think it all depends on how many you are feeding on a regular basis, I don't think you'll be disappointed :D

Not many once or twice a year I'll cook for the family and friends maybe 60 people it gets quite busy but its normally from the grill so the smoker will be in addition to this. Most of the time it will only be my family and maybe of relatives say about 8 people. I think that why i have gone for the smaller one I saw a 57 in my local garden centre and it was huge. I have yet to see a 47 cm and that's why I'm a little nervous.

Morning Philo,

welcome to the forum...definitely the right place to be for advice and general friendliness.
The good thing about low and slow is you can cook up some wonderful dishes in advance (briskets, pulled pork etc etc) and use the kettle for your hot and fast when your guests are there. :D

Welcome to the forum, if your thinking on doing some ribs might want to look into the all weather grillers 'clay saucer method'
