Hello from Herts

Hello,

I am completely new at all this, having recently got hold of some money to spend. i was going to get a gas bbq, however after looking at sites like this one i realised that i could do better by looking at the charcoal option. A lot of reading later and i have settled on a WSM 22" (Gets delivered Friday) and a one touch premium 57cm sitting in the garden as of yesterday.

I am now looking at which types of coals to get and wood and various accessories i seem to suddenly need and hope to be ready for early spring, i will have loads of questions hope you don't mind that but i also hope to be able to get involved.

I am looking forward to the new hobby
Barry

Hi Barry

Welcome.
I'm just starting out in the bbq world aswell and i'm just down the road in Welwyn garden city.
I'm currently saving up for a weber smokey mountain so no cooking yet but done a few racks of ribs in the cooker over 6 hours just to try out my dry rubs.
I've had plenty of great advice on here.

Hi

I grew up in Sweet Briar......small world isn't it :)

I've got loads to learn but the questions I've asked so far that might seem stupid to me always get answered very well.

Seems like its not just throwing meat on a grill its like a science sometimes
