Hi all, I'm Paul From Burton on Trent in Staffs and am very new to the world of BBQ's.

I have a Eckman MBQ 2 and wondered if this was a decent enough piece of equipment to use when I experiment with smoking etc?

Also where are the good threads to read for the newbies? Need to get some reading done so I can start asap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, I would start with the smoking section (low and slow etc.), equipment guides and so forth. Think about what you want to find out about, then work your way through the varied posts. It's not an overnight job, many of us spent a long time working our way through the posts we were interested in, taking notes of things we didn't understand. Once we had read all we were interested in then we used the search engine to find the subjects we missed. Once we had done that we checked for recent posts then asked the questions we needed answering. It's not a quick fix and may take many evenings depending on your level of experience.
The upside of it is you will have a far greater range of knowledge and ideas than just fixating on one subject

Thanks a lot for the reply! I will be doing that as much as possible, I have no experience at all so it may take a while but I am happy to get going and hopefully be on my way soon!!
