My wife and I are mid 50's young and my passions are Bass Fishing and BBQ. I joined your fine site because it's nice to see how folks in other places in the world enjoy this great hobby. I got serious about BBQ around 3 years ago. Before that, I could ruin meat with the best of them.

My equipment consists of a WSM 18.5", Weber Spirit S320 gasser, Weber GA & Charbroil oil less turkey frier. Along with those a Maverick ET-732 remote thermometer, Wife 1956 model and a Thermapen.

Thank you for the response paulfire. We practice catch and release most of the year but do harvest some of the smaller males a couple of times a year. We normally deep fry them but sometimes smoke them on a Cedar plank. I'm still trying to learn how to post pictures on this site but so far it's told me that they are too big. Hope to post some pic's soon.

Just struggling with a concept here, you catch the big bass, and then you "put them back"?

Is "put them back" some southern states patois for " we gut skin and fillet them, then rub the fillets in a Cajun spice blend and sear them over hot coals"? Here in the UK "put them back" would imply that a fellow failed to apply his gnashers to Mr fishy and you let him go.

This seems most unwise as you would then have been fishing and would returns "sans piscine" as our French cousins would say....

Thank you and all for the warm welcome. Tiny, We practice catch and release (after pictures are taken of course) on the larger females especially during the spawn when they a full of eggs. Now catfish, crappy and brim are another story along with gator and crawdads. I'll try to post some pic's as soon as I figure it out.

Hi Toast, with regard to pictures the site is set up to use an online hosting system like photobucket (others are available) so you can post the link into your artcile which gives a thumbnail view of the actual photograph, which when clicked on opens said picture host to view the magapixeled monster in all it's glory.
In photobucket there are several options to copy, with that system it is the IMG thumb you copy and paste into your article which gives you the thumbnail. It seems a bit longwinded but with patience you can do this.

If you tried to reproduce that with full sized pictures I think you would be close to the whole years memory allocation
