Hi All,
My names Stuart and have got the BBQ bug, got a Weber One Touch Original a year and a half ago and have been BBQ'ing all last summer. About to get a WSM 57cm shortly because I love the low and slow results and it's a bit tricky on the OTO.
Great to have a British forum on BBQ and am looking forward to soaking up all the hints and tips on here.

Hi Stu, and welcome! Much easier on a smoker (although perfectly possible on a kettle) - but moreover you get more room to put more meat on! Yay!

Thanks Rob and thanks Matt,
Binfield! Just round the corner from me. I need a little more practice first before any taste tests are ready

How is the 47 WSM? I'm thinking of the 57 for the extra room, but may not need it. Will it handle say a couple of shoulders and about 4 racks of ribs OK?

Welcome Stu,
I'm just down the road as well and have relied on this forum to train me up.
I've got the 47 and it can take a couple of shoulders and I stack ribs in a rack which can take up to six on the top (while the shoulders cook away on the bottom shelf).
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brinkmann-812-9 ... escriptionI went for the 47 as I figured the 57 wold cane too much coal with a bigger space to heat especially during the smaller cooks).
This might help -
http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/wsmcapacity.htmlNot sure where you are getting your meat but recently I have been using the butchers in Hurst - happy Q'ing

Hi ConorD,
Thanks I'll think I'll go for the 47" as I can't see the need to have space for 5 chicken's just on the lower rack!
Also prices are creeping up, the 57" was £349 now it's up to £382.
I need to get in quick (will be my 40th birthday present!).

Glad to help - enjoy. My WSM is one of the best investments I have ever made.
