Smoker BBq's?

Postby Cereleton » 27 Apr 2014, 11:40

Hi I am considering buying a new BBQ.
What I would like to know is if I bug a smoker BBQ it can be used as a conventional BBQ? The model I am considering is the 'Houston SKU615532' available in The Range.
I understand the benefits of smoking the food, but obviously this needs time to slow cook. There will be times we might want to BBQ at short notice. Please can anyone help/advise?

HI Tony,

I would be cautious of advising without having actually seen it, I would not expect it to last and anticipate it being very thin. The photos are deceptive both showing grilling however the charcoal would be directly below the food and would incinerate it.

Offset cookers are ok but need alot of tending, I would recomend going down the traditional kettle style cooker whcih can do low and slow using the offset charcoal method or grill.

Cheers
