Hello!

Postby JONESEY » 09 Jun 2014, 14:34

Hi all,

Just joined the forum from sunny Oxfordshire.
Started smoking life with an ECB, then progressed on to a Pro Q Excel 20 which was great.
Pretty much used that to death, so now in the market for the 3rd smoker ... currently trying to choose between an offset and another Excel 20, or Frontier (Pro BBQ), would appreciate peoples views.

I see offsets for less than £100 online which I always think, buy cheap, buy twice ... when Lang smokers in the US are $1000+, can't see I'll be getting a quality product for £100 ;)

Also have a Weber One Touch Premium for normal BBQ - graduated last year from gas grills, and haven't looked back so far.

Looking to pick up tips and recipes from you good people.

Cheers,
Jonesey.

Welcome, I'm biased already having one but you can't go wrong with and Egg, or the redheaded stepchild aka the Kamado Joe

I am a WSM fanboy and it has been awesome but looking at replacing my Cadac Braai grill and have been checking out the Eggs. One question for you is how messy is a low and slow cook on the egg?

Hi ConorD

Awesome to see that you have a Cadac Skottel :) How do you find it? I know you're after an Egg now but how did you find that Skottel?

Hi - thanks for the warm welcome all.
Unfortunately an egg is out of my price range just now, so I think it'll be a Pro Q Frontier.
Saw one for sale here, hoping it's still available!

Cheers!
