My name is Colin and I love to roast meat using fire. Simple as that really!
I've been into BBQ for years after my Dad, God rest his soul, got me into it when I was young. He loved to entertain and wasn't afraid to experiment but in generl it was bangers and burgers on the whole. Even back then though we would occasionally do a whole joint on a spit and like to experiment with throwing different herbs and wood onto the coals to creat a more smokey flavour.
A few years after I got myself my first kettle style bbq with a lid and a whole new world was opened up with cooking ribs and different joints of meat with all sorts of rubs and marinades.
Then more recently I've disovered the american bbq style and got my own cheap and cheerful 'offse't bbq smoker. also last year I got a Weber one touch premium 57cm which I love to bits.
Now I'm 39 and just about to hit the big 40 and call it a mid life crisis but I'm seriously contemplating a move to try and start my own BBQ business. More specifically maybe supplying frozen pulled pork products online and to local retailers.
That's all a little way off yet but I'm going to spend time doing lots of research and trying to get a decent product for the next year or so which is mainly why I'm here. I've got a lot to learn but I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and share ideas and techniques. I hope I've got a few recipies to share with you all too!
