Dear British bbq society,
My name is Pieter and i live in the Netherlands. I came to this forum to see what my British neighbours are cooking on they're grills. Gradually the barbecue season is increasingly closer and I am planning to buy a new grill. Now I'm wondering if there are also real barbecue experts / enthusiasts are found here on this forum . I am indeed looking for a new bbq and am wondering if you can tell me you're experiences on various barbecues.
Currently I am still orienting regarding the brand / type of barbecue so tips and advice are welcome!
With smoking greeting ,
JP
Ps: Excuse me for my english

Hi JP, are you looking for a home bbq or something built for bulk use and competition?

Hallo Pieter,
Welkom en hoe gaat het? Lot's of great information about the different types of BBQ's and great recipes on this forum!
What kind of BBQ are you talking about, for grilling or smoking? (or both?)

Hi all!
I am looking for a home barbecue, nothing fancy im still an amateur, and prefer grilling. And yeah i also enjoy to read the recipes here on the forum, alot of great inspirations!
I am still orientating about what kind of bbq i should buy, friend of mine just bought an BBGRILL and he really likes it. I also am hearing a lot of good stories about Weber barbecues.

I love the Weber BBQ's. The 57cm one Touch is a great starting point. If you get into smoking you can get stacker rings for it too.
I have not tried other brands for many years, so can only attest to the quality of the Weber products.

Well i know Weber is a good company, but in my friend circle i am hearing a lot of mixed stroies about them. At this moment i also want to buy a BBGRILL because i saw the one that my friend has bought. What do you guys think about this
barbecue?
Its pretty small, but i think its perfect for me, and im still an amature so i think i can play a little with this barbecue. So your honest opinions please, any one has experiance with these types or do you guys think i should save some more money and buy a Weber?

I've used something similar looking in South Africa. Great for grilling hot and fast. Adjustable grates so you can move things further from the heat.
Obviously no way of doing 'low and slow' as no way to put on a lid. Also difficult to cook on indirect heat (for the same reason), so if you're doing chicken pieces for example you may want to par cook in oven or microwave first to ensure cooking right through without burning the outside.
So if 'hot and fast' is your thing, it looks a good option. If you think you may want to go on to do 'low and slow' in the future something like a Weber may be a better place to start.

A great move I think to go for the Weber - enjoy it.
I am from SA originally. A lot of Afrikaans speakers. Very similar to Dutch but closer to Flemish.
