Hello from Essex

Hi there,

Just about to take a step up in commitment to smoking after a couple of years of mostly enjoyable experiments on my Weber kettle.

Thinking of buying a 47cm WSM and Maverick ET732 after reading advice on here, but had a couple of questions I'm not sure if anyone could help me out with. If I were to buy a new WSM, does it have pre-drilled holes that I can slot my Maverick probes in, or do I need to do something myself? Not massively keen to start drilling into my new pride and joy, given I'm not exactly gifted in the DIY area.

As an aside, from couple books I've read (most prominently Aaron Franklin's book) is it common for bbq enthusiasts to also be big into coffee? It's true for me and wonder if just a coincidence...

Thanks in advance
Steve

The ones I have seen do have a probe slot. A 2 pence size grey rubber gromit. Not sure if that is continuous across the years. Just make sure you get a new model and check with the supplier to make sure.

I love coffe too. However, I can't drink it anymore due to giving me chronic tummy troubles!

Hi Steve. I recently purchased a WSM 47 from Riverside Garden Centre and that model came with a manufactured hole and grommet for inserting probes into it.
Hope that helps.
Gavin
