Hello from Holland!

Hi everyone! As you can see I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself and share my experiences with you.

I recently, together with a friend, found a source for olive wood in Spain and we decided to start selling these in chips for smoking.
At the moment we're only able to sell in Europe since we get the olive wood from Spain and it's quite a hard wood and the processing is pretty extensive.

So far, what we've taken care of is that the wood is completely untreated and natural, since we figured this is an absolute "must" nowadays. What we've also done is create 4 different sizes, from dust to chunks (up to about 1.5 inches/3cm)

I wanted to ask people here if you think there's a market for olive wood in the UK and perhaps give me some tips on how you would prefer using this and perhaps on how to approach the market?

Dust and chunks about the size of a fist would be my preference not keen on chips.

But its all about price and delivery costs so what are yours to the UK

Hi Kiska,

Thanks for welcoming me and your tip, I'll see if it's possible for us to create bigger chunks of around 10-12 cm for the UK market

Our price for 350gr (£3,20) of chips and or chunks including delivery costs (£6,40) is £9,60.
The shipping cost will stay the same when ordering under 2kg total.

However, since we are still in the early stages of this product we are right now sending out free samples to people that are willing to try it out and (when they enjoy the product of course) in order to help us spread the word a little.
Let me know if you would be interested, though the biggest sample size we can send right now is our No. 3
