Hello from Cumbria

Hi,
I have just took the plunge and bought a Pit Barrel cooker, I have a gas bbq (sorry) and last weekend had a go at using it as a smoker, which to be honest I did a brisket and it went down great with everyone who tried it, it was just a lot of messing, so looked online at smokers and decided to go for it and get a PBC, which arrives in a couple of days :)
Am looking forward to reading and gaining knowledge in the art of smoking through these forums.
Cheers

Hi cowie, great that you've taken the plunge!

Nothing wrong with gas bbqs. Horses for coarses.

You should hopefully get a better flavour out of charcoal though.

Hi Cowie. My wife bought me a PBC about a month ago and I love it.
So far we have done ribs, pork belly, chicken wings, and some whole chickens...all very successfully. I even did a mac and cheese last weekend.
I don't like the rubs they come with...not to my taste but I am trying to make my own anyway.
Good luck with it...
