So I went last week and had a load of awesome food. some of the best burgers I have ever eaten (from Angus to Kobi to Wagu) along with amazing Mexican at China Poblanos - a must for anyone who gets a chance.
Had a few hours break from the conference so grabbed a taxi and had to use Google Maps to show him where we wanted to go (not the most encouraging start). The Sat Nav said 20 mins but traffic was heavy and 30mins later we still hadn't arrived and I was being asked by my colleagues if we were still in Nevada. The mood was not lightened when the taxi driver made a wise crack about the fact that even the meth labs were in nicer parts of town to the one he was driving us to.......
We finally got there in about 35mins and it was half way up a residential street with a big car park and a red brick building with no windows. The sign read John Mulls Meats and there were picnic tables outside which gave us a bit of confidence that we hadn't just been driven somewhere to be shot. As we closer you could smell the smoke and once we figured out which door was the entrance we were presented with a very industrial looking butchers on one side and the smallest meat counter ever on the other;

All four of us went for the 2 meat combo which came with two sides for $14 (half the price of the taxi

) and we agreed to vary it so that we could try everything.
Pulled Pork and chopped up Hot links;

1/4 Chicken and Pulled Pork

Ribs and Pulled Pork

Whole Links and Brisket

My Man'n'Cheese and delicious slaw

Everything (bar the mac'n'cheese) was amazing and the Hot Links stood out as the crown jewel - I preferred mine whole without the sauce but each to their own.
I then went out back to meet the cooks and was taken through what they cooked on (a whole variety of off set smokers) and the meats. The wood was only used for some of the meats and was all hard, aged oak.

Anyone can eat in a Vegas buffet but this was something special and some of the best BBQ that I have ever eaten.
