I know Al (Dr SweetSmoke) and Bertie (Berties BBQ Team) competed there last year, and they said it was a very busy event so you should have a blast. The only problem for our team with that event is the fact that there is no camping permitted by your cook site and I really don't fancy leaving all my kit setup in Bristol quayside unattended.
Toby is pretty friendly with the organiser there, I think last year there were some concessions for Students etc. I know that last years winning team were called Cowshed BBQ and they won the top prize which was an all expenses paid trip to compete at the Acclaimed Memphis in May competition -
http://www.bbqbackyard.com/forum/topics ... -team-list I'm looking forward to finding out how they get on.
I think you want to know what it's like as a spectator then it would be worth asking around but if you want to know what it's like to compete there Al or Bertie or your best bets.
Cheers
Adie
