Cheap temperature controller - Completed

I saw a temp controller on fleabay for £8.50 and thought i'd try a quick project. Using stuff i had laying around i built a pit controller. I reckon to buy all the bits would be around £32, that's without a box or fan mount but still not a bad price

I'm in the process of building a heatermeater v4 at the moment, I'm probably about 30% through it. I'm looking forward to seeing if it works :)

I built one a while back and use it all the time to monitor temps. I use these probes: http://thermometer.co.uk/1100-chefalarm ... probe.html same make as the thermapen.

I've got some from my Maverick ET732 but those look like good value.

I decided to tidy things up and finish it. I bought a case, fan and mount and some bits and bobs. Didn't turn out too bad.

I bought all the bits from the US, using the links on the wiki page. I could have used maplin or some other component supplier but that would've taken ages. I built the V4 contoller and the pcb's were available in the online shop. I don't think the later versions are available singly yet the min order is 3. I pm's one of the op's on the forum and bought the 3d printed case from him.

I was looking at buying the parts for the heatermeter as well, but was put off by the £12 delivery from both suppliers. Also if it's a 3 minimum on the PCB might it be worth teaming up and making a combined order? I think both Mouser and DigiKey offer free shipping on orders over £50 and I'm sure it would be cheaper than £24 to re-send the parts within the UK. Anyone interested?
