A friend has knocked this up. It can be simply unscrewed when not needed.

Could you attach it to the screw in the centre of the Daisy wheel? That way you have full control of the airflow.

Where it is, it completely covers the daisy wheel, I don't think the angle shows how large the sheet of metal is. You can unscrew it and attach it to the centre of the daisy, but then it will be exposed to the elements when its moved.
