BGE vented cover

Anyone got one. I bought it so that I could leave the XL BGE outside but the wind just gets underneath it and lifts it like a parachute so I chase it around the garden - badly designed or am I missing something?

Hi Conor

My Weber one touch cover does exactly the same, found it at the bottom of my garden one morning.
I put a big bit of cement board over the top when its not going to be used.
I did notice on my wsm cover that there's an elasticated strap on the bottom which gets caught on the vents when i try to take it off, might be worth trying to add something like that or velcro fasteners to fit around the legs to keep it on.

I have one. Does it not come with a drawstring around the bottom anymore? I just pull that in when it's going to be really windy, normally its left loose and isn't a problem.

I'm sure they'll replace it

Just called the support line to double check and see what could be done and apparently there is no draw string on the new covers.

Old chap,
Have you not been done roughly here? an cover without a drawstring is little more than a cape and guarantees that it is days before the breeze gets beneath and your cover, in the style of wally himself leaves you guessing where it might be.

The BGE is an fine cooker, but its price suggests it has been constructed by hollowing out a Yeti's testicle, not Daves, so I would be very loathed to leave it to the elements or to an cover which lacks the certainty to remain in position on a day to day basis.

I suggest you offer the good people of BGE the opportunity to take their wretched cover back, it is probably woven from Unicorn flax, and secure a cover more appropriate for the splendid cooker you own....

I covet an egg......
Cheers
Tiny

A hollowed out Yeti's testicle and woven out of unicorn flax    not sure I'd actually want to eat out of it though

If it said drawstring on it then surely it should come with one, isn't there some rules on not selling what is advertised.

     I would feel odd putting said Yeti testicle in anything other than the finest Yeti scrotum.
