Just got a new cold smoker, a fantastic homemade present from my dad, multiple rack positions in a plywood box about the size of a standard under-countertop fridge. Very pleased with it and looking forward to smoking some salmon for Christmas breakfast in the next week.
However, it isn't weatherproofed and I wondered what suggestions people had for rainproofing this bad boy? Tarp? Foil> Paint? Varnish? Little shelter?

That looks spot on for the money, thanks for the tip. It will only *just* fit the smoker in it, so I might look out for something just like it but a little bigger. I wonder if it would be worthwhile painting it to stop high humidity swelling the plyboard too? If so, does anyone know what paint would be best?

The other thought I had was roofing felt - anyone used that to waterproof a smoker?

Wilkinsons often sell something similar might be on offer due to the season in your local store
