Charity Effort at Grillstock Bristol 2015

Hey,

For those of you who don't know me, I'm one of the original members of the Society, I've been competing with BBBQS since 2009 and I even set up this forum for Toby.

Don't get on here very often these days. I post even less

But I am going to post tonight, asking for some support.

This year I'm doing a big charity effort at Grillstock to raise money for the mental health charity Mind. This is a cause very close to my heart, one that doesn't always get the support it deserves and one that could more than likely help someone you know.

What I'm doing is captaining the UK's first all girl competition BBQ team. The catch being, I'm not a girl. But you guessed it, I'll be fully dragged up all weekend and I'm going all out with this. For those who've met me, you'll remember I was one of the biggest blokes on the competition scene weighing it at a bumper 24 stone and I had one of the best beards in BBQ too ;)

Well in order to cope with 12hrs plus a day in heels and to make sure I look FAF, I'm 8.5 stone and counting down and I've probably practised my makeup more than my cooking for this season

If you're coming to Bristol I guarantee we'll be some entertainment for you!

We're raising money through a Virgin money giving page. Doing great so far but I want to raise so much more.

As both an incentive and a thank you we're running a series of prize draws for our sponsors. Basically everyone who sponsors us £5 or more is added to every subsequent draw. There'll be at least 8 draws and we have some epic prizes including VIP tickets to all 3 Grillstock festivals, signed Dr BBQ cook books, weekender tickets to Upton Cheyney chilli festival, rubs from One Man BBQ Army and bundles of goodies from ETI (oh yeah Thermapens).

You can donate and enter the raffle at http://m.virginmoneygiving.com/mt/uk.vi ... sTeam=true

You can also find us on Facebook to follow what we're doing. If you decide to donate and you're not on Facebook please mention the forum in your sponsorship message so I know where to find you if you win.

I'd really appreciate your support of you can give it.

Thanks for reading

Happy to donate to such a worthwhile cause Steve (Seeing you dressed as a girl all weekend is just an added bonus!).

The chances are everyone here will know someone who suffers from some form of mental health problem (1 in 4 people are affected).

Best of luck with the fund raising.

Pete
P.S. Now if you show a video of you getting your legs waxed, I will happily donate again

Funnily enough I've had a few offers of extra funding for videos of waxing

At least yours is only for the legs. Certain people have requested a YouTube back, sack and crack video!

The other one from competition teams has been donations for lap dances with their teammates being being the recipients. Being part of a BBQ team is obviously a hazardous pass time.

Absolutely over the moon.

Just got notice that I've won a pair of pit crew tickets to Grillstock Manchester.

Anybody from here competing there? I'll try and find you.

Sounds excellent (apart from the shaving the beard part) otherwise how goes the rubs? last I remember you were about to start selling.
