Which thermometer?

Hi All!

I've got some birthday bucks to spend and decided to buy a new pit thermometer for my UDS. :D so no complaints form the missus about the cost!

Am thinking either the Maverick 732 or the 733 - both available on Amazon for under £60

What are people's recommendations? Are these amongst the best or are there others I should be looking at?

I have a 732 and am very happy with it. Not used anything else, however, so can't compare it from personal experience.

The maverick is about the best option for this type of thermometer. ETI were looking at a Bluetooth unit but I'm not sure if it ever got released.

Cheers gents, the ETI certainly ups the ante cost wise!

Maverick looks the way to go for me :)

It also relies on your phone, sometimes high tech isn't always needed (can't believe I just said that  )

hehehe cooking large lumps of meat for silly amounts of time over coal isn't exactly high tech either :)

The zenith of BBQ mastery probably entails merely "knowing" when the food is perfect. Until that time, I'll rely on technology!

Went for the ET733 in the end, couldn't resist the hybrid probes that can handle higher temps! Just waiting for it to arrive now :)

Finally got to use my new ET-733 the other weekend. Found it was easy to set up after reading the instructions properly, set the upper and lower limits for both probes and off you go!

Glad I made the investment and it was super handy have the receiver unit nearby to check on the temp without have to run halfway down the garden! :D
