Help absolutely desperate!

Postby Wharfedale1985 » 28 Apr 2015, 14:55

I have stumbled accross this site by accident and reading it I am hoping someone can help me as I don't know where to turn as I appear to be at a dead end.

My father in law bought an Outdoor Chef Bengal Barbeque Onyx (immage attached) for a small fortune.

He has barely used it in the time he has had it and has decided to give it to me which I am greatful for. However upon inspection of it the controls are completely knackered and need changing. When I have called outdoor chef's designated dealer based in Kendal he had no idea what type of BBQ I was on about and stated even if he could get the parts it would cost me the best part of £250. I have tried to contact the spare parts web site with no success. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get spares for it from below is a link showing the BBQ itself-

Its defo a outdoor chef BBQ as it states it on the lid.

Does anyone have knowledge of these things as I'd normally walk away from something like this but he paid a kings ransom for it.

Hoping to god someone can help.

The only price I could find online was around the £900 mark! Woof!

What is actually wrong with the BBQ? Is it the gas controls? If so, and you are confident enough to have a go, you could try and fix them. Or maybe even remove them and take them to a BBQ shop to see if they can help or possibly use a different BBQ as a donor.

Charcoal is always the backup option of course :)

Good luck, I hope you can get it cookin!

outdoorchef changed their distributors in the UK last year and they mainly focus on the Ascona so wouldn't have a clue. Call outdoorchef''s head office which I think is in Switzerland. Should be able to find the number on outdoorchef.com
