Me, I've been sleeping too. Immediately following my Brighton trip, and my call in on the BBQ Shack at World's End, my next port of call was the campus of my old college, University of Sussex, for their 50th Anniversary celebrations.
Many old friends there, some I had kept in touch with over the years since graduating, others I hadn't seen in 20 years. Much beer and wine was drunk, plus not an inconsiderable amount of malt whiskey!
Had a great time, sharing a campus flat with some really good buddies. All I can say is that student life these days is a bit more luxurious than I remember - ensuite rooms, fully fitted kitchen, with dining room and lounge the size of my entire downstairs. Someone commented that the only thing missing was the flat screen TV on the wall, but apparently they were about to be fitted before term started!
In other news, I've finally made it to the top of the list for my buddy who does my building work. They started clearing the garden today, with the aim of a complete makeover, with a vegetable patch on one side, and a social area and permanent (covered) BBQ position on the other. For this reason, the Traeger is back in the garage for the moment, and I doubt I will do any BBQ cooking for a week or so, until it is all complete.
