Congratulations everyone. Sounds like I need to definitely check out the BBQ shack this summer.

Hopefully see you all in August.

From a judges point of view ... standards have improved soooo much since last year ... it's becoming a pleasure to be a judge ... though I will admit, it's not easy tasting so much meat!!! Almost not enough room to taste the desserts, but I was a real hero and muddled through those !!!

Well done everyone!!!

I would just like to say what a fantastic weekend again. Great company, great food, quite a few beers, and the glassware was a welcome extra.
Congratulations to Trigger and Jeremy and all of Bunsen and Burner on their win. Well deserved la !
Congratulations to every other competitor too it is nice to hear the judges positive feedback about the standard of all our food.
Thanks to Toby and Kate once again for hosting this event and long may it continue.

Just to echo Esselle, special thanks to Toby and Kate especially Kate as she was sooooo poorley and still braved the competition field. Thanks also goes to the Hogs Back Brewery for sponsoring my headache and the event, and also to Heat Beads again for raising the temperature of the event.

Although I am looking forward to next years events where we will finally get to meet many of the other posters on this forum. The BBBQS Grand Final is only 32 sleeps away!!!

I've just had a look at the points scored at this weekend's competition and it's amazingly tight. Anybody could still win this years GC and just a couple of points lost or gained on any discipline could mean the difference between 1st place and 6th. I'm sure we all feel that we can turn in better BBQ than we did this weekend so bring on Round 2 . So looking forward to this now. :D

it's all gone quiet...is anybody else, like me, shocked by the closeness of these results? Especially as we all have different styles and techniques. Who has the nerve now to bet on themselves for the GC....?

i am busy working on the taste notes for everyone, I could not believe the results which is why they were checked again and again, and once more yesterday.

As I have to remain completly independant I will wish everyone luck............. because I really dont have a clue, it really could be anyone!!!

Very exciting
