So, as many of us I have used fire to cook for a long time, from fire on a beach to grills and gas BBQs, but I have never tried to get to the mythical BBQ skills. My meat comes out OK, but often slightly to burnt or a bit on the rare side, not a problem, but I can not control it, so it is a bit of a gamle what kind of meat I get.
So I decided to change this, and with a char griller 5050 duo, as this seems to be a extremely versatile piece of kit, and I want to do some experiments between coal and gas, as well as the side smoker which I have some plans for.
I also realised that a lot of our american brothers who uses char griller range BBQs and smokers seems to feel that to make the kit go from good to awesome, they feel that one should do some minor changes to the design, and voila. My new project was born.
As I am writing this I am waiting for the doorbell to ring, soon I will have the kit, next step is to decide which changes to do to it.
I also decided to start a blog about the experiment as well as about cooking in general. So far it is pretty empty

And now I'm of to see if I can figure out how to sort out thermometers and placement. thinking I need one for the fire box as well:)
