Hi All, Having visited the Southern USA quite a few times and acquired a taste for great BBQ and smoked food I have invested in a smoker. Here to learn how to smoke food and BBQ properly. Hope to visit many competitions to see and learn how it's done. Brian

Hi UKEgger

I am based in Bicester - near Oxford.

Sorry to be so long getting back to you been a tough summer with my Wife being treated with Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. Thankfully all very successful and behind us now. I can get back to smoking, food that is!

Would love to have information on the BBQ Society about how I can learn to BBQ and Smoke food effectively and manage my grill properly.

Saw the Big Green Egg in Texas and Tennessee on holidays looks a really nice piece of kit.

Are there any events through the winter months at all? Would seem to be a good time to learn to hit the summer keen to put the skills into practise.

Regards
Brian

Hello UKEgger,

I am also in the Bicester area and have been smoking for a few years now. What kind of smoker do you have?

Hi

I have a ProQ Frontier and really only started at the beginning of this year. Had a few hot smoking sessions, mainly Pork and Ribs, some chicken not overly adventurous but all been good so far. One cold smoking session with cheese worked out well. Subscribe to Jeffs Smoking which is a good source of information.

Hoping to learn a lot over coming years from the BBQ Society events and courses if I can find them.

Do you go to any of the events?

Regards
Brian
