What a great Forum. Loads to read and plenty of contributors. Really looking forward to reading all the posts and contributing and asking some questions.

I received a ProQ frontier as a Christmas present (had it early, as I promised my wife cold smoked salmon). It came with the cold smoke generator, so been putting it to good use. I love my cooking, and really look forward to trying out loads of different recipes and techniques.

I recently started making my own sausages, burgers and bacon and look forward to learning new recipes, especially the low and slow side of BBQ cooking.

I also grow a lot of chillies, and look to incorporating them into alot of my BBQ recipes, so looking forward to making tasty hot rubs and marinades.

Cheers for reading, and look forward to read and contribute to what looks like a great forum with a wealth of information available.

Before my ProQ , this is what I used. Cheap £10 BBQ with a tray over the top. I learnt to control the heat and smoke, and with a small tray of water managed to produce some great cooks, from pulled pork to deboned leg of lamb with a spiced rub.

Looking forward to taking my BBQ to the next level.

It turned out great. I don't like salmon myself, but, as I said, it was for the Mrs. and the family over Christmas, and it was described as' the best '. It's the time of year for cold smoked meat.

Have you done it before?

No. Cold smoked trout before cooking it.
Also cured salmon, which was nice. Gotta try it
