Hi from Northern Ireland

Postby narmour » 29 May 2015, 10:31

Hi

A little about me.. I'm Neil, I'm 36 and from County Down (feel like I'm on a gameshow here). I'm an enthusiastic foodie in the River Cottage style (bake my own sourdough breads, brew my own beer and wine, grow my own veggies etc etc) and have recently started sniffing around the concept of low and slow barbecue. For several years I have been the host of many barbecues, although in the the typically Irish way, these have been burnt sausages and burgers in supermarket rolls as an accompaniment to a hefty quantity of beer. I've always had a thing about learning how to do something properly, so I am throwing myself headlong into yet another new hobby. I can almost hear my wife's eyes rolling in her head

Would love to hear from other folk, newbies and seasoned pros alike, especially those from Northern Ireland on the topic of sourcing good quality materials and smokers etc.
