Summers Here - Best BBQ Tunes

Postby Burntwood boy » 27 Jun 2011, 08:08

I was just wondering if any of you have ready made playlists or cd's for when you get your q on.

So I am looking for suggestions for the ultimate BBQ playlist.

Allow me to begin by suggesting " Fortunate Son - Credence Clearwater Revival"

Get thinking :)

Christian..

For me, the sound of the summer is always "California Saga" by the Beach Boys: "Big Sur", "The Beaks of Eagles", "California".

Many years (decades) back, Capital Radio DJ Dave Cash used to play the complete Saga (about 11 minutes) uninterupted, whenever he had decided summer had really begun.

Well Chris, you have introduced me to 3 Beach Boys tunes I had not heard and I do like the Beach Boys (love Pet sounds).

Thanks for that.....2 songs always said summer to me they are "the boys of summer" Don Henley and "last summer" by the lostprophets, I know they are both obvious Summer Songs as they actually feature the word but they still seem to capture the feeling of sunbaked skin and balmy evenings to me!!

The tracks come from Holland, which was sometime in the 70's, a lot later than Pet Sounds (which I also love). The three tracks were written at different times, and combined into "California Saga" for the Holland album, but they go so well together, I tend to think of them as one.

As joker smoker said "When it comes to BBQ, it's gotta be the Blues"
