All good Mate, I'll give the one's I don't know a squizz on YouTube.

Anthrax are awesome....I keep trying to sneak some Slayer in but I reckon that might just tip the balance a bit even if I explain it away as "It's a BBQ....this song is called "Flesh Storm"...you're eating flesh right?!" :geek:

Bit heavy for me....but I do remember them from the days when I had long hair and used to go to venues like rock city in Nottingham. I think my tastes have mellowed a bit now I am in my 30s ;) I have even started listening to Andy Williams.....Ill get my slippers...

No...count me in for the soul and blues, don't go in for jazz but Robert Johnson, muddy waters and recently seasick steve are doing it for me. Soul wise Al green has the voice......

To quote a Scottish / Australian band....

"In the beginning
Back in 1955
Man didn't know 'bout a rock 'n' roll show
'N all that jive
The white man had the schmaltz
The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Tschaikovsky had the news, he said

Let there be light, and there was light
Let there be sound, and there was sound
Let there be drums, there was drums
Let there be guitar, there was guitar, ah
Let there be rock

And it came to pass
That rock 'n' roll was born
All across the land every rockin' band
Was blowin' up a storm
And the guitar man got famous
The businessman got rich
And in every bar there was a superstar
With a seven year itch
There was fifteen million fingers
Learnin' how to play
And you could hear the fingers pickin'
And this is what they had to say

Let there be light, sound, drums, 'n guitar, ah
Let there be rock

One night in a club called the Shakin' Hand
There was a 42 decibel rockin' band
And the music was good
And the music was loud
And the singer turned and he said to the crowd

Let there be rock!"

So, what I'm saying here is Rock 'n' Roll came from the Blues, you can't beat a good bit of BB King or Howlin' Wolf et al :)

Also, on Radio 2 the other day they had the "TwoDay" and they had Trevor Nelson and Tony Blackburn...I have to admit for someone who didn't really get Soul beforehand I have to say they turned me onto some good stuff....still a Rock'n'Roller at heart though! :D

No Worries by Hepcat had always been a stand out summer tune. Also check out Manu Chao for some good Spanish summer music.
